Most people believe that if there is a God they are going to heaven because they are a "good person". But the Bible states that the opposite is true - here's what God has to say: "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). Now many people disagree with the scriptures - "I may be worse than some, but I'm sure better than others." But the Bible says we need to stop excusing ourselves and ask God for forgiveness; for "if we confess our sins HE (God) is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness". And when God forgives it is perfect forgiveness; it is total. Psalm 103:12 says "As far as the east is from the west so far has He removed our transgressions from us" But we must "repent" from our sins. To repent means to turn away from or to change one's direction. Repent is from the Greek word Metanoia, from which we get our word metamorphosis, a radical change. We must make a U-turn in the road of life, and seek after the things of God. Romans 10:9 tells us that "if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead you shall be saved". It's that simple! Getting to know God means first acknowledging that there is a God, and then giving to Him the place in your life that He should have. Just simply ask Jesus to become Lord of your life - getting to know God is as simple as a sincere prayer. As you read this, even now Jesus is standing at the door of your heart waiting for you to ask Him in. Just open that door with a simple prayer like this one:
